Philippians 4:6-7
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
What happens when you move away from placing your hope in ONLY the Lord?
When you place your hope in your heavenly Father he will give you a sense of peace. When you trust him he will go before you and prepare a path for you. He will give you comfort and joy.
Father God’s peace is impossible for us to fully understand or comprehend.
Any peace or comfort you have found in things of this world does not even compare to the peace from the Father.
There’s another passage in the Old Testament, from the book of Judges. It says, “Then Gideon built an alter there to God and named it ‘God’s Peace’. It is still called that…”
Gideon is a man with a really awesome story. Take time today to read Judges 6 to learn more about this man and his life. Gideon called this alter “Jehovah – shalom” which means, “God is Peace”.
As you go about your day, bring that truth to the forefront of your mind. God is your peace; what does that truly mean for you today?
When fear comes and tries to break you down, tries to consume you, remember that God is YOUR peace. When hope seems to disappear and fade, choose to look at Father God.
He is the source our your hope and peace, your comfort & joy. Cling to that truth today.
