Romans 15:13
“Oh! May the God of hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope!”
Hope.
What does that word mean?
Here’s what the dictionary says about hope:
“A feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.
A feeling of trust.”
In the Greek, the word “hope” is “elpis” and it means:
“to anticipate usually with pleasure, expectation of good,
the author of hope, or the thing hoped for”
Have you lost hope? Hope in the future? Maybe just any area of your life?
Maybe, fear has choked your hope. Maybe, failure and defeat have strangled your ability to hope.
Maybe disappointment has suffocated your hope.
Maybe you’re seeking out answers and you can’t quite put your thumb on the reason why you feel so hopeless.
Maybe you’ve misdirected your hope.
Maybe you have trusted & leaned too deeply into people or things that just simply cannot be what we fully depend on.
There is only ONE who we can lean on.
Our God is the author of hope. He is the reason why we can hope. He is what we place our hope in!
He can restore your hope in a single instant.
Come bow before Him & place your hope in Him.
Don’t focus on the temporary, for the temporary will soon be gone.
Come & worship the Creator, not the things that were created.
The hole you are in isn’t too deep. Your valley isn’t too dark.
Let God spark your hope once again.
Let Father restore the hope that has been lost.
My prayer for you today, is that God restores your hope.
That your heart is open to trusting in Him.
May He give you peace when you are anxious.
May He give you comfort when you are sad.
May He give you hope when you are afraid.
