Proverbs 13:20
“Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.”

Who are your friends? We have our acquaintances, then we have our friend group, and then there’s our close core. That close core consists of your ride or dies, the ones you’d do anything for, their influence holds more weight than you think.

Your friends are your future. It seems weighty, but it’s so true. The people you spend your time with, the people you come to in times of need, those friends you get advice from and joke around with, they become your future.

If you want to be wise, deepen your relationship with Jesus, and grow in your faith, you’ve got to surround yourself with like-minded people. If your close core spends time dwelling on the negative, gossiping, and walking away from Jesus, where does that leave you?

Your close core and the influence they have on your day to day living will slowly, but surely, turn into your future if you let it.

Take time today and pray. Pray for your close core and ask Jesus for guidance and clarity in who he’s placed in your circle to grow closer with. Friendships shape you, let’s make sure they’re shaping us to look a little more like Jesus.
