Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.”

Trust is something that we do almost every day. We trust that when we lay down in our beds, it will not allow us to fall on the floor. We trust that our parents will provide us with food (even though sometimes its Brussels sprouts… and we really don’t like Brussels sprouts…). We trust that our cell phones will work properly when we make a phone call. There are so many things we put our trust in daily!
Solomon makes the statement, “Trust God.” Solomon also urges us to believe He is working on our behalf even when we feel like it doesn’t make sense or the situation is not right. But, we have to trust in the Lord with all of our hearts, with all that is in us and lean not on what we understand because God’s ways are higher (and smarter) than our ways. We have to fully focus on Him, and make Him the center of our hearts, our minds, and our full beings!

This year, some things may not have gone the way you wanted them to go, but we’re still able to trust in God and stop trying to figure it out all on our own. If we could figure it out then we would not need God, and it’s fairly obvious, we REALLY need God.

I urge you to try a new focus today, a focus of trusting God for the problems you are having at home, at work, in those private areas that no one knows about. Trust God and don’t try to figure it out on your own. Give it over to God fully and trust that He is working on your problem, even though it doesn’t feel as if anything is happening.

Let’s go deeper!  How can you actively practice trusting in God this week?  How can you invite your friends and family into actively trusting in the Lord? Aks these questions and begin opening up your heart to trust more and more.
