John 14:27
“Peace I leave with you, peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.“
I have a fear, a raging unhealthy fear of airports. I always have and I always will. I get so worked up and anxious before a flight that my stomach is in knots and I begin to feel light-headed. We all have those types of fears, don’t we?
It’s safe to say, everyone in the US is dealing with the same fear. With constant updates from the CCD and tp shortages, we’re living in this state of fear. Some have locked themselves away, some are scarcely leaving home, and some of pondering what all this means. It’s scary, yes. I won’t tiptoe around the truth, but as followers as Christ, we have this peace that transcends all understanding.
Jesus cares for us. Even in the craziness, our world is serving us day after day, Jesus cares. He sees our fears and anxious hearts. He sees it all and even beyond that, he lived out life here on earth. Jesus walked a life on Earth once before. He knows exactly what we’re facing and he actually promises us something that changes it all. He promises us peace.
As you sit with Jesus today, don’t let the constant scrolling on Tik Tok or noise of the news keep you wrapped up in your fears. Put everything down and pull out your bible, dive into the truth, and watch as Jesus’ peace covers every last fear you may have. You’re not alone. You’re being held and cared for a God who gives out peace abundantly.
Rest in his peace, it changes everything, even the hardest of hearts melt in the peace of Jesus.
