Luke 2:14
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”

I rolled out of bed with the stuffiest of noses and a strange pounding headache. I somehow managed to drag my tired body down to the kitchen where I searched my fridge for eggs (of which did not exist). My back was achy and my tummy was now growling in anger. I managed to get the coffee brewing, but sat at my dining table, foggy and frustrated.

I stared at my unopened Bible and thought, “Glory be to God.” Even in the dysfunction of my morning, God is still good and worthy of praise. Even in the midst of a global pandemic, chaos all around us, fear and anxiety on the rise, stay-at-home orders, and anger from our neighbors, God is still worthy of praise.

We can so easily get wrapped up in the brokenness of our world and forget to turn to Jesus, forget about His peace promised to us, and complain, worry, and groan in the pains of living down here on earth. But let’s focus on doing the exact opposite from here on out. We’re adopted into a royal family. God calls us His sons and daughters. Time we start acting like princes and princesses, knowing full well how glorious and mighty our heavenly father is.

Take time in prayer and reflect today. Release all you’re struggling with. Whether that be fear in an uncertain season or frustration as plans change and things are stripped from you, present it to Jesus. Leave it in His hands and declared how holy, perfect, and good the Lord is, even in the ups and downs of life.
