Psalm 46:1
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
Protected in my cocoon, I feel seen, held, and surrounded by the presence of God. Wrapped tight in the gentlest way, I find rest in my cocoon. My cocoon is my sacred place, my escape and place of comfort and security. I know it’s strange, but in the ups and downs of everyday life, it helps to escape to my cocoon and just be still with my creator.
I don’t have an actual cocoon (lol), but I can close my eyes and slow my running mind to find this special space with Jesus, a place where I know I’m fully understood and safe.
If you feel bogged down by the craziness of life, you’re not alone. The sad thing is, many of us keep running. We don’t slow and let the Lord weave us into that safe cocoon. We fear tomorrow, stress over today, and anxiously fumble through our business.
Today, ask Jesus to reveal to you the rest and comfort only he can cover you with. Ask in the stillness of your quiet time with Jesus for him to cover you in a cocoon and reveal to you your belovedness. Still your soul now and ask Jesus to meet you.
