Mark 12:30

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.”

There was this song that started playing on Spotify called “Have It All” by Bethel Music. The lyrics go like this:

“You can have it all, Lord

Every part of my world

Take this life and breathe on

This heart that is now Yours”

What does it mean to be so surrendered to Jesus, that you give Him your ALL?

I think for most people being fully surrendered is scary & uncomfortable. We really enjoy having a bit of control of our lives. However, when we FULLY surrender to God, when we give everything over to Him, it means that we no longer have control.

That is so beautiful though, because God is the Creator of the universe, the King of all Kings, & the Lord of Lords. He is a good Father, and a sweet friend. He saved us! He loves us so much. There really is no one better to surrender to.

But what does FULL surrender look like on a daily basis?

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
Colossians 3:23

God wants us to give him the best of everything we have to offer. In sports and school and all other areas of life, “potential” is a big word. It means that there is room for more achievement within an individual. God doesn’t want us to have the “potential” to love him, because he wants us to actually love him with all we have.

As you live out your day, take the time to stop and ask yourself, “Am I truly living fully surrendered?” Whether that be during practice, while you do your homework, in the midst of a conversation with friends or your mom, take a second and ask God, am I fully surrendered, loving you fully with every part of my life?
