Luke 10: 41-42
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

How are you responding to Jesus today? Are you busy running around taking care of “this and that”? Sometimes being Martha isn’t wrong… she was serving her Lord and savior. But there’s a time and place for a Martha mentality. Have you taken the posture of Mary before Jesus today yet?

Slow your pace and center your heart on the holiness and wonder of Jesus. We’re called God’s beloved. What does it truly look like to stop doing and still be a beloved?

As you process the difference between Mary and Martha and begin to identify where you just might be relating, ask Jesus what it looks like to be a beloved. Ask what he longs for from you today. He might just want uninterrupted quiet time with you, where your heart is open you’re still before him.
