Psalm 27:13-14: “I believe I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”
One of the feelings I like the least is the feeling I get when I’m waiting for something exciting to happen. Any time I have a trip or a vacation planned, the week leading up to it is the worst.
I get so wrapped up trying to plan and pack and organize. I like to be prepared, and I like to know what I’m doing, which makes seasons of waiting even harder than they already are. When I’m waiting for something good to happen, like we all are in this season of cancelled plans, it can be hard to look for the good.
Waiting feels a little easier when I know what the exciting thing is at the end of it. But when I’m in a season of waiting, I try to hold onto God’s promises—promises of good things, of future plans, of hope. I fully believe that we will see the goodness of the Lord in the world we live in, we just have to look for it. So while we’re waiting, let’s look for where the Lord is moving. Be strong, and let your heart take courage— where do you see the goodness of God in your life?
Take time to journal and write and process the good all around you. Jesus is with you in all the ups and the downs. He’s a part of this crazy life we’re living in. Look to him today and find the good all around you.
