John 15:12:

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”

As this week comes to end let’s look back. We spent time loving our friends well. We focused in on that close core. We prayed for those in our friend circle that God strategically placed in our lives. We started really thinking about our future and how the friends we have now will affect that.

Love does. Real love has action driving it toward some awesome goal. Loving our friends requires action. Loving those around us, it requires action.

Jesus’ love for us was demonstrated by the greatest of actions. He chose to die, a sinner’s death upon a cross, for our sin. And after three days of being buried in a tomb, the mighty love of Jesus did something unspeakable. He rose from the grave. He conquered death. His resurrection made a way for us to live.

We’re called to live out a life with that same kind of love. The intense love of Jesus lives in us. Loving our friends like Jesus requires action. Let’s love them and love them well.

What if God’s longing to move and work right now in your friend group and you’re missing out on his awesome plan, all because the love you’re living is action-less. Love does, and when it does, you might just see Jesus in a whole new light, in a whole new way, and it might just blow you out of the water.

This weekend, step out in real love and do something extraordinary for the circle of friends God put in your life.
